Custom bridal dresses

The Melissa Gown 2020

Throughout the process we met multiple times to test fit, seam finishes and go over material options. The dress’s base was created using the bodice of her Mother’s vintage bridal gown. The vintage bodice originally had sleeves and coverage throughout the back. The bodice was altered by removing the sleeves, transforming it to be backless and lengthening it through the torso. Off-the shoulder lace straps were inserted and carefully placed. A bustier was added for extra support in order to remain backless while holding a full princess skirt. Beaded lace and new materials were added over the vintage bodice to match the aesthetic of the bride but also keep a piece of her Mom with her throughout her special day.

The Lynn By Michelle Gown 2017

The Lynn by Michelle Gown took me about 1 year to sew, fit, alter and material source. The front of the silhouette is inspired from the shape of my Mom, Lynn’s vintage dress and the back draped peplum is a pattern piece from my Mother-In-Law Terry’s, vintage dress. I wanted to integrate the special pieces I admired from their dresses and combine my fierce, vintage modern style. The lace is beaded with a paisley and floral design. The lace was hand sewn and placed specifically throughout the gown. It has a horse hair and scalloped laced hem to help hold the shape. Throughout the design process I kept my soon to be husband in my mind. This truly was created as a symbol of my love for him and came straight from my heart and soul. My goal is to continue to create gowns that help express those same feelings and emotions for my clients.
